The seventh-generation has changed the way car enthusiasts look at Corvette. It was unveiled in 2013 and introduced into the market as a 2014 model. It had finally replaced the C6 which had served for the past nine years.
The C7 comes with a better design and style. Furthermore, the interior was improved to a very great extent, and it no longer used cheap plastics for pimping. The machine had at long last found its rightful place in the motor world. People no longer wanted to talk badly about it.
Just like the C6, the C7 still continues to make use of the 6.2-liter V-8 power plant. However, the old LS3 has been replaced with the recent LT1.
For the last three years, we have had rumors about the introduction of one of the most powerful versions of the C6. However, these have always remained just that, speculations.
In fact, there is a time when the G.M made it very clear that the idea of the ZR1 will never see daylight. Things have however changed after spy shots were taken of a mid-engine Corvette were taken.
The spy shots seem to be a very huge hint to the fact that the new ZR1 is actually going to be a reality. If things go as expected, then the supercharged Corvette will grace the markets a 2018 model.
2018 Chevrolet Corvette Exterior
Spy shots were taken of a camouflaged prototype. With this in mind, one would be to ask how we came to conclude that it was actually a ZR1. This is a question that can best be answered by examining the striking features which were observed.
To begin with, it had new and larger vents which were situated at each corner of the front fascia. If you have good experience with cars then this should a hint to a better V-8 under the hood.
Further, the hood seems to be bigger than that of the Z06. This is a pointer to the possibility of extra gears.
2018 Chevrolet Corvette Interior
It is very hard to speculate on the kind of changes that this car will make on the inside. It is however only wise that you do not get ahead of yourself. Chances have it that it will have a cabin of C7 concept. It will have a few unique features here and there.
We look forward to an updated infotainment system having a bespoke menu and options.
2018 Chevrolet Corvette Engine Specifications
The word doing rounds is that it will be a twin-turbo V-8 power plant. When asked for clarifications, the GM was very silent on it. However, our prayer is that it comes with a twin-turbo since this will ensure high emission of power and at the same time ensure fuel economy.
2018 Chevrolet Corvette Price and Date of release
We expect it to be the most expensive of all the generations of the Corvette. This could be due to its speed and power. However, comparing with other brands which have similar performance, it will be considerably cheaper. It will cost somewhere below $ 120,000.
We expect the vehicle to be released by mid-2017.
