It was after nineteen years of being absent in the scene that the sixth generation Dodge Charger was revived. It came back as a mid-size Sedan in 2006, succeeding the intrepid model. It was in 2009 that the vehicle underwent significant changes in its interior and exterior parts. The last update was done in 2014, making it more beautiful on the inside and outside. It also received the 8-speed transmission.
We look forward to the next update in 2018 with the new Charger. There are very high chances that it will be equipped with a new engine and an improved appearance. However, the basic concept is the same-powerful rear wheel drive v6 and v8 engines.
2018 Dodge Charger Exterior
The Dodge Charger has always appeared very aggressive and pleasing to the eye. It has got a wonderful front having the evil eye optics and a large grill, ‘muscular’ profile having rapid lines and bigger wheel arches, a huge rear with lights across it and a big bumper fitted with the diffuser.
Regardless of the position from which you view it, this machine can never fail to impress; the eyes will always be attracted. It looks moderately thick and sporty.
The Dodge Charger Interior Specifications
As for the interior design, the sixth generation Dodge Charger has borrowed a lot from the original model. If you are not keen enough then you may be tempted to think that it is a replica of the old version. However, what sets the two apart is that the 2018 model will have a cool, sporty and pretty appearance.
It has got a three-spoke steering wheel having embossed outlines crowned controls, instrument panels having two wells and a nice and clear color display having a massive center console, with the 8.4-inch multimedia system and a climate control which is ergonomically engineered.
It is very much expected that this new model of the Dodge Charger will not feature so many changes. Let us just hope that the Dodge will introduce a new concept to make the car more beast-like.
2018 Dodge Charger Engine Specifications
The charger normally has got a wide range of power plants, with 8-speed automatic transmission and a rear wheel drive. Beneath the hood contains a 3.6-liter v6 engine with multipoint fuel injection and 24 valve timing which generates 296 horsepower.
The 2018 model will be having a multi-shaped eight-cylinder unit HEML with the ability to adjust valve timing, multiple injections and a system of cylinder deactivation. With this, it will be 5.7 liters producing 375 HP.
Price and Date of Release
Going by the current trends, the 6th generation of the Dodge Charger normally costs around $27,000 in the United States market. The Dodge Company has not yet come out clearly to say how much the new model will be costing. However, since no major change will be seen, it is our informed opinion that customers should arm themselves with something not more than $30,000.
The exact date of release is also not yet known. All we can talk about right now are mere rumors. However, being a 2018 model, it should be released by the end of 2017.
