Chevrolet very much wowed us with the new sixth-generation Camaro. This Camaro was moved to a different platform, which very much blurred the lines between a sports coupe and a normal sports car. This was back in 2016, which was almost 3 years ago. Therefore, it means that the Camaro is due for a new upgrade. And thus, to keep the car fresh, the Camaro is getting a makeover in 2019.

The 2019 Chevrolet Camaro features a newly redesigned front and rear end. There will also be visual differences between the various trim levels as well. All the Camaros, except the ZL1, will be receiving new headlights, along with LED accents. These accents will spill over into the grille, along with a reshaped hood as well. The SS models will now get a flowtie badge and front bumper. This is said to improve the car’s aerodynamics. This SS variant also gets special headlights with a unique LED light signature. 2019 Chevrolet Camaro Engine And Specifications

Totally new for the 2019 Camaro, is a Turbo 1LE model packing the turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 engine. This engine makes about 275 BHP of power, and 295 lb-ft of torque. The turbo four Camaro is the last in the lineup to receive the coveted 1LE package. This was after the V6, SS, and ZL1. Chevrolet didn’t skimp on the performance of the cars though.

The Turbo 1LE receives the familiar FE3 suspension, that includes specially tuned dampers. There is also stiffer rear cradle mounts, rear tow links, along with cross-axis ball joints. Combined with that, you also get larger diameter front and rear stabilizer bars. This package also gets you tires sized 245/40R20 in the front and 275/35R20 in the rear. Going with that are Brembo brakes with low metallic performance tuned pads. Also, inside the Turbo 1LE has a standard flat-bottom steering wheel wrapped in suede. It has the option of Recaro sports seats too.

The Camaro’s tail lights are redesigned now. They are much more sculpted than before. It has a 3D feeling to it. There is also 10-speed automatic transmission, which is co-developed by General Motors and Ford. It will come with paddle shifters too as well.

The 2019 Chevrolet Camaro comes with Chevy’s latest infotainment system. That infotainment system is designed to mimic the functionality of today’s smartphones and tablets. There is a 7-inch touchscreen, which is standard. There is an option for an 8-inch touchscreen, which is available when you upgrade to onboard navigation. Even if you don’t, the new infotainment system will be fully compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This is the same as it is on the revamped Malibu, Cruze, and Spark. Chevrolet says that the new system, which is called Infotainment 3, can easily auto install over-the-air software updates. This helps in better system stability and performance.

There will be a Rear Camera Mirror, which will come standard on 2SS and ZL1 models. This will offer a wider field of view than a traditional mirror. The regular rearview camera option has also been improved, with a nice digital HD camera, which results in a clearer image. Finally, the Performance Data Recorder system of the car has also been improved as well.
